The Bungalow Bathroom

Happy Sunday peeps!!! I haven't done a decor post in a while now. I've been wanting to show you my bathroom but I needed to finish this project first.

Do you remember this cute table Chance made me from an old door?

Well he had to cut the window off of it to make it the right size for a coffee table. This is the piece of wood that was left over and I don't like to waste!

It has been sitting in my garage for almost a year. I have a huge list of to-do's and this was just one of them. We finally got around to it today. I'm assuming most of you don't have a piece of wood just like this one hanging around. Don't fret, you can just use 2x4's and cut them into 3- 20" pieces like Chance cut this one into.

I wanted the chippy, old look so I didn't do anything to my wood pieces. But after cutting yours, you will want to paint or stain your wood before assembling it. After that, you will add brackets and a hanger to the back. We just got ours from Lowe's. This is what the back should look like.

Now you will flip it over and add something to the front to hang a wreath from. An old drawer pull or cabinet knob would be really cute. I got this metal flower from Hobby Lobby and it was made specifically for hanging something from.

So now you will screw your hanging item of choice into the top center of the front of your board. After that, you will hang a small wreath and ribbon from your knob. You can find a wreath like this at any craft store. But this is where it gets fun to make it custom for your style and space, be creative! Once you've finished this step, it's ready to hang.

I put mine in my bathroom. We only have one bathroom in our little bungalow and I get asked all the time if I hate it. And my answer is no! We have lived in houses with two and three bathrooms since we've been married and I hated cleaning all of them! I'm sure once my kids are older we will want a house with one or two more but right now we are just fine. Anyways, here is my little vanity.

Across from my shower are these built-ins where I keep our towels and bathroom stuff. The bottom left door is our laundry shoot, I love it!!! It makes me feel like we still live in the 30's. My kids think It's so fun to throw their clothes down it which makes my life easier.

This wall is where the toilet is, right below my new craft. I got the decorative towels and shower curtain from my favorite store-Target. Of all the things in my house, my shower is the number one thing people comment on, kind of funny. Everyone loves the arched entry. It definitely makes the shower look nice and big.

If you make a wood wreath hanger of your own, I would love to see it! You can tag me on instagram @redbrickblondie or post it to my facebook page, Red Brick Blondie. Thanks for reading about my loo!
